Deutscher Reiseverband (DRV) - German Travel Association, Head of Governmental Relations & Outbound Destinations


After having spent several years working for the Berlin State Parliament and the Deutsche Bundestag Volker Adams joined DRV as a Senior Advisor on Public Affairs.
Volker Adams is momentarily in charge of DRV´s Governmental Relations and responsible for the association´s Outbound Destinations Committee.
In this context he has been dealing with Tunisia´s tourism market, especially after the economic breakdown following the terrorist attacks in 2015. DRV has signed an agreement with the German Ministry of Development (BMZ) in September 2017, aiming at stimulating investments in tourist markets in northern Africa, especially Tunisia. The association hopes to bring together major tourist companies, building contractors, utility companies as well as local and federal government.

Friederike Grupp

Thomas Cook Touristik GmbH, Sustainability Manager


Friederike Grupp is the Sustainability Manager for the tour operator Thomas Cook in Germany.She completed her Bachelor degree (economics and tourism) at the Baden Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University of Loerrach while working for Thomas Cook from 2011-2014. During this time she already interned at the sustainability department. In June 2015 she took over the role as Sustainabiliy Manager within the company and is now, amongst all the other sustainability topics, responsible for the total quality initiative of Thomas Cook in Tunisia.

Sandra Rochnowski

CEO and Founder of InfraCert – Institute for Sustainable Development in the Hostel Industry


Sandra Rochnowski is the CEO and Founder of InfraCert – Institute for Sustainable Development in the Hostel Industry, based in Berlin. The audit system of the company and the sustainability seal “Green Sign” have been developed as a practice-oriented method to evaluate and structure the ecological, social and economic aspects of hotel management. Together with her business partner, Sandra works on granting hotel operators easy access to consulting services, audits and sustainability courses.
As a business economist, Sandra is focused on the studies of management systems, strategies for sustainability and quality management in the hospitality and tourism sector. Therefore, she has published articles on sustainability-related topics for established trade journals and was invited as a speaker to major tourism-related conventions (e.g. ITB Berlin).
